The cat

📖 In short

Meow! The cat is one of people's favorite pets. It's clever and clean, loves playing and jumping, and is very independent. The pet cat belongs to a big family that includes the lion, the tiger and the leopard, so it's like them in many ways.

🌟 Eyes in the dark

A cat sees much better than we do in dim light. Its eyes shine in the dark because they have a layer inside that reflects light like a mirror.

🔍 Clever whiskers

A cat's whiskers aren't just for show: it feels its surroundings with them, and they tell it whether it can fit through a narrow gap.

💡 A clean cat

A cat spends a long time every day washing itself with its rough tongue covered in tiny hooks, combing its fur and getting rid of dust.

🎯 Landing on its feet

If a cat falls from somewhere high, it quickly twists its body in the air to land on its feet. But that doesn't mean it can't get hurt, so we must keep it from falling.
