Owl

๐ In short
The owl is the bird of the night! It sleeps by day and comes out when it gets dark to hunt mice and insects. It has a round face and big eyes that look forward, like yours. People call it โthe garden's night guardโ because it rids fields of rodents.

๐ Turning its head
An owl can't move its eyes, so it turns its head instead. It can turn it so far that it can see almost behind itself!
๐ Amazing ears
An owl's hearing is very strong: it can hear a tiny mouse moving under leaves or snow in the dark, and know exactly where it is.
๐ก Silent flight
The edges of an owl's feathers are soft like a comb, making its flight so quiet it can't be heard. So it gets close to its prey without being noticed.
๐ฏ Strange little pellets
An owl swallows small prey whole, then coughs up a little pellet of the bones and fur it couldn't digest. Scientists study these pellets to find out what owls eat.
