Snail

π In short
This animal is a snail without a shell, also called a slug. Its body is soft and slimy, and it crawls slowly over damp ground, leaving a shiny trail behind. On its head are two long feelers with eyes at the tips, and two short feelers it smells with.

π Walking on slime
A slug makes a slimy substance called mucus that it glides along easily; it protects it from sharp things and helps it climb walls and plants.
π It loves damp
A slug's body dries out very quickly, so it hides under stones and leaves by day and comes out at night or after rain.
π‘ A tongue like a file
A slug has a rough tongue with thousands of tiny teeth that it uses to scrape and eat plant leaves. That's why gardeners don't like it: it eats lettuce and flowers.
π― Feelers that go in and out
If you touch a slug's feeler, it quickly pulls it back into its head, then pushes it out again when it feels safe.
