The zoo

π In short

π Homes like the wild
Modern zoos try to give each animal a space like its natural home: rocks and trees for monkeys, cold water for penguins and wide grassland for giraffes.
π Who looks after the animals?
At the zoo, keepers feed the animals and clean their enclosures, vets treat them and scientists study how they live.
π‘ Protecting rare animals
Zoos help protect endangered animals by caring for them so they breed, and sometimes releasing some back into the wild.
π― Zoo manners
When you visit the zoo, don't tap on the glass, don't throw food to the animals and don't shout, because animals are bothered by noise.
