A picture on the screen is made of tiny squares called pixels, and the computer stores each square's color as numbers. Here the grid is eight by eight: 1 is a colored square and 0 a white one.
In โDecodeโ mode the child reads each row's digits and colors the squares until the drawing appears; in โDrawโ mode they draw whatever they like and each row's code is written beside it.
