🌟 The Tour de France
The most famous road race in the world is the Tour de France. It lasts about three weeks, and riders cover more than 3000 kilometers in stages, climbing high mountains. The leader wears a yellow jersey.
🔍 Track racing
Track races are held in velodromes with an oval wooden track whose sides are steeply banked, and riders race very fast on bikes with no brakes!
💡 Mountain biking
Some cyclists race on tough bikes with wide, knobbly tires along rough mountain trails with rocks, dirt and steep slopes.
🎯 Teamwork
In road races team members help each other: some ride in front of their leader to shield him from the wind so he saves energy, then he sprints at the end to win.
