About โNumber lineโ
The number line is a tool teachers use a lot: numbers sit on it at equal distances, small on the left and big on the right. In this activity not every number is written, so the child counts the marks from the nearest written number.
Two exercises: reading the number the arrow points to, then the reverse, tapping where a given number goes. On the 0 to 100 line the marks are every 5, so the child learns to estimate distances and count in fives and tens.
