🌟 How do we play?
The player hits the shuttlecock over the net into their opponent's court and tries to make it land on the ground there. If it lands in their own court or outside the lines, the opponent gets a point.
🔍 An amazing shuttlecock
The shuttlecock is very light and flies slowly if hit gently, but hit hard it becomes one of the fastest things in all of sport, then slows down quickly because of its feathers.
💡 From India to the world
British officers in India learned an old game called “poona” and took it to England, where it was named after “Badminton” House, where it was played.
🎯 A game for everyone
Badminton can be played in the garden or on the beach for fun, or in an indoor hall for official matches, because wind blows the shuttlecock off course. It's played one against one or two against two.
