π The tea bush
Tea bushes are grown on hillsides in warm, rainy countries. Workers pick the small, tender green leaves from the tops of the bushes by hand.
π Green and black
Green tea and black tea come from the same plant! The difference is how the leaves are prepared: green tea is dried quickly, while black tea is left to change color before drying.
π‘ A Chinese legend
A Chinese legend says that thousands of years ago a tea leaf fell into a Chinese emperor's bowl of hot water, he liked the taste, and that's how tea drinking began.
π― Tea in our countries
In Morocco green tea with mint is poured from a teapot held up high. In the Gulf, red tea is drunk with cardamom and saffron, and in Iraq it's drunk in small glasses called βistikanβ.
