⏭️ The futur proche
📖 In short
To talk about what we're going to do soon there's a very easy way: the verb aller in the present, then the infinitive. So Je vais jouer means “I'm going to play”.
🔎 The lesson
1 aller + infinitive
| Pronoun | Verb |
|---|---|
| je | vais manger |
| tu | vas manger |
| il / elle | va manger |
| nous | allons manger |
| vous | allez manger |
| ils / elles | vont manger |
- Demain, je vais nager.Tomorrow I'm going to swim.
- Il va pleuvoir. It's going to rain.
- Nous allons partir en vacances. We're going on holiday.
2 Negative
Put ne ... pas around aller: Je ne vais pas jouer. (I'm not going to play).
3 Future words
- demainTomorrow
- ce soirThis evening
- la semaine prochaineNext week
- bientôtSoon
💡 Watch out!
- The second verb always stays in the infinitive: Je vais faire, Tu vas finir, Ils vont lire.
